The second house is here — Heimkoma in Akureyri
It is always a special feeling when a new house joins Heimkoma.
We can finally announce that the second house in Heimkoma's first three-home community has joined the portfolio.
The house is on Hafnarstræti in Akureyri, a short walk from the town centre, yet in a peaceful and beautiful setting. It offers wonderful views across Pollurinn and the surrounding mountains, making the location both distinctive and highly desirable.
We had been following this property for some time. When the opportunity finally arose, we knew it was the perfect addition to Heimkoma's first community.
A beautiful detached house with exceptional views
The property is a detached house of over 200 square metres with comfortable accommodation for up to 10 guests .

Built in 1923, the house has been extensively and tastefully renovated in recent years. It combines the charm of an older home with modern facilities and well-used space.
The location
One of the property's greatest strengths is its location.
It is close to central Akureyri, restaurants, culture and everything the town has to offer. At the same time, the house enjoys a peaceful setting and beautiful views. Below you can see the property's exact location on the map.
Heimkoma puts its stamp on the house
We take possession of the house in early June.
Heimkoma will then complete the final preparations, including:
- interiors in the Heimkoma style
- new furniture
- new appliances
- equipment consistent with the other Heimkoma houses
Our aim is that whenever owners arrive at a Heimkoma house — in Akureyri, Húsafell or elsewhere — they always feel they are coming home.
Part of the first Heimkoma community
This property is the second house in Heimkoma's first three-home community.
In this community:
- 12 owners jointly own 3 houses
- each owner receives 12 weeks a year
- owners are named on the title deed and own a real share of the properties
Heimkoma then takes care of operations, maintenance and all services.
Property handover
We have already started to hand over the first house to owners.
- House 1 — already in use
- House 2 (Akureyri) — handover in early June
- House 3 — handover this autumn
Owners pay only for properties that have been handed over. When new properties join the community, the corresponding portion of the investment becomes payable.
